Because of the rising number of cornonavirus cases, the Hutchinson School District will be transitioning to a new learning model next week.

Last night (Tuesday), the board approved implementing the new learning model in which K-5 will move to a hybrid model on Monday (Nov 16), and grades 6 -12 will move to distance learning.

Superintendent Daron VanderHeiden says the most recent numbers show 12 students in the district have tested positive for covid and 200 students are quarantined.

Three staff members have tested positive, with 28 quarantined.
