(KWLM/Willmar MN-) A St. Cloud teen was sentenced Wednesday to 8 years and 7 months in prison for shooting a Willmar man in June 2019.
Judge David Mennis gave 18-year-old Jeremiah Torke credit for 177 days he had already spent behind bars before handing down the 103 month sentence, to be served at the prison in St. Cloud.
On June 30th 2019, Torke was told to leave a house party in Willmar. Torke then shot a 29-year-old man and fled but was later arrested at another house in Willmar.
The victim survived the shooting.
Torke faced 4 charges, but in August he pleaded guilty to 1st Degree Assault Causing Great Bodily Harm, and three other charges including attempted murder were dropped.
