A Melrose man died Friday after getting caught in the power take off (PTO) on a tractor.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says 32-year-old Keith Kingsley died at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Office says at just before 5:30pm, they received a 911 call reporting an accident on County Road 186 in Melrose Township, which is about 2 miles west of the city of Melrose.
When responding officers arrived on scene, they found Kingsley entangled and trapped in the power take off shaft of the tractor he was using.
Kingsley had been operating the tractor, pulling a trailer, while sanitizing the interior of a turkey barn.
The body was transported to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. The incident remains under investigation.
